Thoresby Colliery Band chooses Still Sharp to produce its forthcoming CD recording.....
The weekend of 10-12 September saw us recording the band in the Theatre at the Dukeries Complex in Ollerton. Leigh Baker conducted the band through a gruelling but enjoyable schedule for the 3 days. The music includes Leigh's own arrangements of Lionel Richie's 'All Night Long' and the beautiful hymn tune 'Eventide' plus lots of other brass favourites like 'The Old Rugged Cross', 'The Australasian', 'We've Only Just Begun' and many more. It is hoped that the album will be available by Christmas this year (2010). Keep your eyes on the website for details.
Still Sharp Music celebrates exam success..AGAIN!!
Another batch of students were entered into music theory exams and all passed with distinction. The exams demonstrate a skill in music literacy and the marks earned by the students are a credit to them and something that Still Sharp is proud to commend!
